Mavericks Top Golden Eagles 3-0

Goodland, KS – The Golden Eagles men's soccer team is still searching for their first win of the year, dropping a 3-0 battle against the Mavericks of Northwest Kansas Technical College on Friday afternoon in Goodland, Kansas. Northwest Kansas Tech scored all three of their goals in the second half and goalkeeper Kieran Harrison made some stellar saves to keep the clean sheet.

A high attacking game amongst the two teams as they each fired off 21 shots in the game. Jacob Alvarez nearly put LCCC up in the first half but had his shot turned away and off the crossbar. The match would go into the half scoreless.

In the second half, the Mavericks converted on a goalkeeping mistake in the 51st minute and jumped ahead in the match. Three minutes later another costly mistake from the keeper gave NKTC a 2-0 lead. The Golden Eagles were down to 10 men in the 65 minute as Eddie Mercado was shown his second yellow card. NKTC would add a third in the 77th minute.

Laramie County stays on the road as they travel to Garden City Community College on Saturday September 9th for a 2 p.m. central time kickoff.
