Cheyenne, Wyo. – The men's basketball team hosted #12 Otero Junior College in a Thursday evening matchup, falling to the visitors 97-67. The loss is LCCC's fifth straight, dropping their record to 1-6 this season.
The Golden Eagles and Rattlers were tight throughout the first half and Otero held a 40-33 lead into halftime. Otero extended the lead early in the second half, but Cortney Dean (Denver, Colorado) quickly hit a three to keep LCCC in reach. Otero scored nine straight points to boost the lead 20. The game came to an end with a final score of 97-67.
Kyle Cabs (Denver, Colorado) finished with a double-double, scoring 10 points and adding 10 rebounds. Dean led LCCC in scoring with 19 points knocking down three three-pointers. Mateo Zovko (Mostar, Bosnia) managed to hit the double-digits in scoring as well with 10, adding four rebounds to his stat line.
The Golden Eagles meet an old conference opponent for their next matchup, as they take on Trinidad State Junior College in Trinidad on Tuesday, November 26th at 4 p.m.
