Golden Eagles Lose to #8 Sheridan College

SHERIDAN – It was a tough game for the Laramie County Community College men's basketball team as they fell to #8 Sheridan College 83-63 to move to 11-15 overall and 4-6 in the Region IX North, while Sheridan College improves to 25-1 and 11-0 in Region IX North play.

The Golden Eagles fell to Sheridan earlier in the year at home 81-61.

The Golden Eagles fell behind to start the game, as they Generals jumped out to an early lead. Sheridan led 41-27 at the half. The depth of the Generals kept the pressure in the second half and made it difficult for the Golden Eagles to cut the lead.

Daequan Spragion (Brooklyn, New York) led the Golden Eagles in scoring 15 points, followed by David Appelgren (Stockholm, Sweden) with 15 points and Cortney Dean (Denver, Colorado) with 10 points.

Sheridan College was led by AJ Bramah with 16, followed by Josh Bagley with 14 points.

LCCC combined for 24-of-66 shooting for 36.4 percent, 6-of-21 from beyond the arc for 28.6 percent and 9-of-16 from the charity stripe for 56.3 percent. Sheridan College wsa 34-of-71 for 47.9 percent, 7-of-24 in 3-point attempts for 29.2 percent and 8-of-16 free throws for 50 percent.

LCCC collected 32 rebounds, while Sheridan College tallied 53. LCCC forced 14 turnovers and committed 10.

The Golden Eagles will to Rock Springs for a Region IX North game against Western Wyoming Community College on Feb. 16th at 7:30 p.m.
