LCCC Basketball Fall to #12 Casper

Cheyenne, WY – The Laramie County Community College men's basketball team fell to #12 Casper College at home in a Region IX North matchup Saturday afternoon. The Golden Eagles were up by eight at the half but fell 94-81 in the end to the Thunderbirds.

LCCC is now 10-14 overall and 3-5 in the Region IX North while Casper is now 22-2 and 7-1 in the Region IX North.

LCCC was led by Tyrese Potoma (Regina, Canada) with 20 points, five rebounds and three assists. Cortney Dean (Denver, Colorado) added 17 points. David Appelgren (Stockholm, Sweden) was dominant in the post with 13 rebounds, 12 points and seven blocks. CC was led by Broc Finstuen who had 20 points on 17 shot attempts and 13 rebounds with six steals.

CC shot 43.5 percent from the field and 40 percent from the three. LCCC shot 41.2 percent from the field and 37.9 percent from the three. The Golden Eagles had 13 turnovers in the game compared to Casper's eight. LCCC did have eight blocks in the game but only had a steal in the game. Casper had the edge in rebounds 58-39.

The Golden Eagles next game will be on Wednesday, February 6th at home against Eastern Wyoming College. Men will tip off at 7:30 p.m.
