Gillette Upends Laramie County, 73-63

Gillette, Wyoming – The Laramie County Community College Golden Eagles men's basketball team was outscored 38-30 in the second half of Saturday's game which led to a 73-63 setback on the road to Gillette College.

Laramie County (9-13, 2-4) and Gillette (12-10, 1-4) were close at intermission, 35-33 as the Pronghorns lead by two. The Pronghorns pulled away for their first league win. Mason Archambault and Dreshawn Allen led Gillette's scoring with 20 and 18 points, respectively.

The Golden Eagles had three players score in double figures led by freshman Cortney Dean (Denver, Colorado) with 23 points. He shot 8-of-13 from the field, 4-of-8 from the three-point line and grabbed seven rebounds.

Freshman Mateo Zovko (Mostar, Bosnia) followed with a 12-point performance, while freshman Tyrese Potoma (Regina, Canada) chipped in 10 points.

LCCC went 23-of-67 from the field (34.3 percent) with a 7-of-30 (23.3 percent) effort from deep, while Gillette connected on 19-of-61 shots from the floor (31.1 percent) and 6-of-19 (31.6 percent) from long distance.

Laramie County will be back on the road against Northwest College on Wednesday, Jan. 30th at 7:30 p.m.
