Tough-Shooting Night Results in Loss

NORTH PLATTE – With the holiday break right around the corner, it was not a great start of a weekend road trip as Laramie County Community College Golden Eagles as they fell to North Platte Community College on Friday evening on the road 67-50.

It was the second victory against the Golden Eagles for the Knights (7-1) who won in Cheyenne 75-68 in OT last month. In dropping its second straight game on the road, Laramie County (4-8) made 14-of-21 free throws (66.7 percent) but struggled shooting from the field, hitting 32 percent (16-of-50), including 25 percent (4-of-16) from 3-point range.

Tyrese Potoma (Regina, Canada) led the Golden Eagles with 15 points. Stephane Manzi (Nyamirambo, Rwanda) had 11 points and shot 50 percent from the field.

Courtney Murrell and Jakub Karwowski led North Platte with 18 points. They were the only two Knights in double figures. As a team they shot 44.1 percent (26-of-59) from the floor, 38.5 percent (5-of-13) from beyond the arc and 62.5 percent (10-of-16) at the foul stripe.

LCCC doesn't have much time to rest as they are on the road again the following day at McCook Community College. Tipoff is set for 3 p.m.
