Trojans Knock Off Laramie County

CHEYENNE, Wyoming – The Laramie County Community College men's basketball team had three players score in double figures but fell to Trinidad State Junior College 81-72 Saturday at the RAC.

The Golden Eagles (4-7) fell earlier to Trinidad State right before Thanksgiving on the road.

Daquan Spragion (Brooklyn, New York) led all players with 22 points. He shot 9-for-21 from the field. The other two Golden Eagles double digit scorers came off the bench. Hayden Collier (Rangiora, New Zealand) scored 12 points and was 4-for-8 from 3-point territory. It was his highest point total of season. Stephane Manzi (Nyamirambo, Rwanda) scored 10. Manzi completed the double-double leading the team in rebounds with 10. The Golden Eagles' reserves outscored Trinidad State's bench 29-19.

Though Laramie County was out-shot 48.3 percent to 39.1 percent – it won the turnover battle by forcing Trinidad State into 16 turnovers. The Golden Eagles were out-rebounded 44-33 by the Trojans.

The lead changed seven times in the first half and the score was tied nine times. The Trojans held a 42-39 halftime advantage.

The Golden Eagles will hit the road on Friday to North Platte Community College at 6 p.m. The Knights beat the Golden Eagles in overtime earlier in the season in Cheyenne.
