Men’s Basketball Falls to TSJC

Trinidad – The Laramie County Community College men's basketball team suffered an 87-68 defeat at the hands of Trinidad State Junior College (CO) on Tuesday afternoon.

Trinidad State shot 43.4 percent from the field in the game, while Laramie County shot 42.1 percent shooting.

LCCC is now 3-4 on the year, while TSJC moves to 7-1. Daequan Spragion (Brooklyn, New York) led the Golden Eagles with 16 points, hitting 4-11 from the field. Spragion also paced the team with four assists, and tied Tyrese Potoma (Regina, Canada) and David Appelgren (Stockholm, Sweden) for the lead with a steal. Mateo Zovko (Mostar, Bosnia) posted 15 points on 7-15 shooting from the field. Potoma added 14 points and Appelgren contributed eight. Appelgren and Hayden Collier (Rangiora, New Zealand) had a strong night on the boards, pulling in a team-high seven rebounds. Stephane Manzi (Nyamirambo, Rwanda) recorded two block shots.

The Golden Eagles head to Salt Lake City, Utah for weekend games at the Salt Lake Community College Tournament. LCCC first takes on Snow College at 3 p.m. MT Friday.
