Laramie County Falls Short Against Otero

SHERIDAN, Wyo. – Otero Junior College held off a resilient effort by Laramie County Community College to post a 84-80 victory over the Golden Eagles in day two of the Holiday Inn Classic hosted by Sheridan College Saturday afternoon in Sheridan, Wyoming.

Three players scored in double figures to lead the Golden Eagles. Freshman Tyrese Potoma (Regina, Canada) scored a game-high 23 points on eight-of-20 shooting, including sinking one of the Golden Eagles' six three-point field goals.

Freshman Mateo Zovko (Mostar, Bosnia) tallied 15 points, while Daequan Spragion (Brooklyn, New York) finished with 10 points. Freshman David Appelgren (Stockholm, Sweden) posted a team-high 11 rebounds.

The Rattlers outrebounded the Golden Eagles, 52-46, and pulled down 14 offensive rebounds. Otero led 43-42 at halftime.

Otero's Wesley Harris led them with 17 points while AJ Youngman added 13 points. Reggie Gibson was also in double figures with 11 points.

The Golden Eagles will be on the road on Tuesday Nov. 6 against Northeastern Junior College in Sterling, Colorado.
