Landon Taliaferro Signs with Fairfield University

Cheyenne, WY – Laramie County Community College men's basketball standout Landon Taliaferro has always wanted to play basketball at the highest level collegiately and will get to do so as he signed a National Letter of Intent with NCAA Division I program Fairfield University Friday afternoon.

The Boulder, Colorado native led the NJCAA in 3-pointers made with 130 on the season. He averaged 22.1 points per game which was 9th best in the country in scoring. He shot 49.7 percent from the field this past season and 48.7 percent from behind the 3-point line. Of players that hit over 50 3-pointers made on the season Landon was 4th in the country in percentage.

"The atmosphere and culture of the team was the right fit for me and I was able to build a good relationship with the head coach helped in my decision to sign with Fairfield," said Taliaferro.

Taliaferro had six games where he recorded 30 points or better and tied the record for most three pointers in a game at 10. Landon had a career high 38 points on Nov. 11 against Western Wyoming Community College. He was also named to the Region IX First Team.

Landon will major in Economics at Fairfield University. The Stags are located in Fairfield, Connecticut and finished 17-16 overall this past season. They reached the Championship game of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.
