Men’s Basketball Loses to North Platte CC, 91-76

CHEYENNE, Wyo. – Four Laramie County Community College players finished in double-figures, but an early lead by North Platte led the Knights to a 91-76 victory over the Golden Eagles on Saturday afternoon at the RAC.

With the loss, Laramie County drops to 13-11 overall and 5-5 in the Region IX South. North Platte improves its record to 9-8 and 6-4 in league play.

Da'Zhon Wyche (Anchorage, Alaska) led the Golden Eagles with 20 points and two steals while Zaire Mateen (Queens, New York) had 19 points and seven assists. Landon Taliaferro (Boulder, Colorado) added 15 points and Elijah Oliver (Cheyenne, Wyoming) chipped in with 11 points. Solomon Iluyomade (London, England) added seven points and seven rebounds.

As a team, Laramie County hit 14 3-pointers shooting 51.9 percent for the game. The Golden Eagles trailed 49-43 at the break and the Knights led by as many as 15 in the contest.

North Platte was led by Godfrey Rolle with 31 points as part of three player in double-figures for the Knights. Aaron Ridley had 20 points in the contest and Jakub Karwowski had a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds.

Laramie County will travel down to Northeastern Junior College on Wednesday evening for a 7:30 tipoff.
