Oliver’s 29 Points Not Enough for Men’s Basketball in Road Loss

TRINIDAD, Colo. – Elijah Oliver (Cheyenne, Wyoming) finished with 29 points but the Laramie County Community College men's basketball team fell 91-84 to Trinidad State Junior College on Saturday afternoon on the road.

Oliver led the team with his 29 points. Three other Golden Eagles scored in double figures as Da'Zhon Wyche (Anchorage, Alaska) had 13 and Landon Taliaferro (Boulder, Colorado) and Kyle Wright (West Orange, New Jersey) each had 11 points.

Laramie County is now 10-10 overall and 3-3 in the Region IX South.

Trinidad State had the edge at the half 41-39. Trevell Cunningham finished with 25 points for the Trojans and Charles Henderson added 23 points and seven rebounds.

As a team the Golden Eagles shot 44.9 percent from the field, 22.7 percent from the 3-point line and 77.3 percent from the foul line.

Laramie County will host Otero Junior College at the RAC on Friday evening. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
