Men’s Basketball Victorious over Western Wyoming, 88-82

RIVERTON, Wyo. – Landon Taliaferro (Boulder, Colorado) led the Laramie County Community College men's basketball team with 39 points in an 88-82 win over Western Wyoming Community College Saturday afternoon in Riverton.

LCCC (3-3) led 39-34 at the half and held onto that lead in the second half. The Mustangs kept battling but the Golden Eagles were able to knock free-throws down the stretch.

Western Wyoming finished with four players in double figures, led by Amin Adamu with 20 points. Nathan Fromm added 18 points, Tyrees Sidberry added 14 and Calvin Nevill-Kintu finished with 11 points.

Taliaferro shot 14-18 from the field and 7 of 9 from the three-point line in the game. Elijah Oliver (Cheyenne, Wyoming) added 21 points for the Golden Eagles. Zaire Mateen (Queens, New York) finished with 20 points.

LCCC shot 46.8 percent from the field and 47.6 percent from the outside. The Mustangs held a 41-38 edge in rebounds. The Golden Eagles held the Mustangs to just 12.5 percent from the three-point line.

Laramie County will be back at home on Friday Nov. 17th as they host P2P Elite at 7 p.m.
