Golden Eagles Drop Region Contest against the Runnin’ Lopes
 

Cheyenne, Wyoming – The Laramie County Community College men's basketball team hosted Lamar Community College on Saturday at the RAC. The Golden Eagles were defeated by a score of 80-77, falling to 20-10 overall on the year and 12-4 in South-Sub Region IX play.

Alfonzo Anderson (Newark, NJ) led LCCC with 22 points, shooting 8-of-17 from the field, adding three three-point field goals and 3-of-3 from the line. Anderson completed the double-double with 14 rebounds which led the Golden Eagles. He added five assists, a block and a steal to the stat line. Da'Zhon Wyche (Anchorage, AK) added 19 points, shooting 7-of-17 from the field, 2-of-6 from the three-point line and 3-of-3 from the foul line.

LCCC shot 39 percent (23-of-59) from the field on the night, while LCC shot 43-1 percent (31-72). The rebound advantage went to the Golden Eagles, 45-33, but lost the turnover battle, 20-10.

The Golden Eagles (20-10, 12-4) will host the #8 seed McCook Community College in the first round of the Region IX Tournament next Saturday. Tip-off set for 4 p.m. MT. Golden Eagles will enter the tournament as the #1 seed from the South.
