Laramie County Community College and Eastern Wyoming College will now compete in the North conference of Region IX for men's and women's basketball following the departure of Little Big Horn College, Miles Community College and Dawson Community College from Region IX. The North will have eight teams on both the men's and women's side. The South conference will have seven team on the men's side and six on the women's side. The tournament format has not yet been finalized.

For Volleyball, the North and South conference will combine for one Region IX tournament. Region IX will still get two bids to the National Tournament and will send the Region IX champion and runner-up. LCCC will be hosting the Region IX tournament in Cheyenne this fall at Storey Gym.
