Ward enters his first season as Interim Assistant Coach on Danielle Rinaldo’s staff, returning to the sidelines at LCCC for the first time since serving as Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach from 1988-1991 under Woody Halverson.
Ward comes returns to LCCC following a ten-year stint coaching NBA G-League tryout camps. Rich also spent time as the head basketball coach at The Kinard School in Fort Collins, Colo. from 2013-2015 following a year as an assistant coach at Sierra High School and with the semi-professional Colorado Kings of the American Basketball Association.
Ward spent nine years the Athletic Director and Head Men’s Basketball Coach at the University of Maine at Presque Isle from 1999-2008. While at the University of Miane at Presque Isle, Ward coached the leading rebounder at the NCAA Division III level. Prior to his time at Presque Isle, Ward spent four years as the Head Men’s Basketball Coach at the University of Maine at Machias from 1995-1999 where he coached the nations leading scorer in NAIA.
Ward also served as an assistant coach at the NCAA D II level at the Unviersity of Wisconsin Parkside from 1993-1995.
In his first stint at Laramie County Community College, Ward served as an assitant coach for the Golden Eagles’ men’s basketball team for three seasons from 1988-1991.
